Who we are
With the desire for local, meaningful, and spiritual young adult community in Central Jersey, The Well was sparked into existence.
Picture this: Collin and Jocelyn, sitting in the booth of a loud and crowded Applebee’s after a young adult event in North Jersey, when all of a sudden, they find themselves discussing the lack of community local to them. A joke of “Let’s just take it into our own hands!” quickly became a plan. That plan became a mission, and that mission became a calling.
Thanks to their discernment and obedience, along with the wisdom and experience of their soon added leader, Steve, The Well has become a fruitful ministry, filled with an ever-increasing amount of young adults chasing after God’s heart.
why “the well?”
The Well is inspired by John 4, where Jesus meets the Samaritan woman at Jacob’s Well.
Firstly, wells were a place of community, where the women would go together, draw water, and bring that water back to their own households. There, they would share that water with their family, their friends, and anyone else that they would spend time with.
But this Samaritan woman’s story was a bit different. She was an outcast, someone who had no community. Yet Jesus met her at that well, and through a spiritual encounter, offered her the Living Water that he is. Jesus then encouraged her to go back to town, so that she could tell everyone that Jesus is Lord.
We at The Well want to offer each and every young adult that same opportunity. To come, witness a spiritual encounter with Jesus, gain Christian community, and encourage others to do the same.
Meet the Team

Co-Founder and Director
Collin’s true love is ministry, and everything it involves. Believe it or not, he always saw himself as a passionate volunteer for the church, but he grew up with the dream of becoming an aerospace engineer. Over time though, God shifted and shaped his heart, molding Collin to take on his calling not in engineering, but as a minister of Christ. Collin became more and more drawn to this through his high school years, especially through his active membership of Liquid Church in multiple volunteer facets. He eventually decided to go to college to pursue pastoral ministry, with the new goal of teaching and leading a church. He graduated Messiah University in 2024 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Leadership, and plans to one day earn a Master’s of Divinity, and possibly a Doctorate. With him, Collin brings experience in leadership, teaching, counseling, and discipleship, and has a heart to equip others with those same gifts.

Co-Founder/Associate Director
The level of Jocelyn’s gifting of leadership and discipleship is undeniable. Her heart lies with the children that she ministers, ranging from toddlers to kindergarten, and in her ability to help plant the seed in children’s lives. Jocelyn’s passion for ministry grew as she looked also to young adult ministry, and began co-leading a small group, where through her experiences and wisdom, she guides and encourages other young adults in their faith journeys. When she’s not in church or at one of her young adult groups, you can find her working as a veterinary technician, after studying at Rutgers University for her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and a concentration in Pre-Veterinary Medicine. But she remains eager for more, and is also pursuing her MBA at Rutgers. Want to get Jocelyn talking? Ask her about music, animals, travel, or formula one racing, all while enjoying a nice cup of coffee!

Associate Director/Worship Coordinator
For over a decade, Steve has been serving in various ministry roles, all with the desire to reach the unreached, and listen to the unheard. Most recently, he has been leading and teaching a small group through Liquid Church for over three years, which inspired his involvement with The Well. The majority of his serving has been on worship teams as a vocalist and guitarist, allowing him to use his gift of music to grow the Kingdom of God. Steve has always had a love for music, and he even went to school for it at Visible Music College in Memphis, TN, where he studied songwriting and vocals. Now, he works as both a recording artist and songwriter that plays live music, and as another newfound passion of his: an elementary paraprofessional and substitute teacher’s aid. Within the past year, Steve has been primarily working with children K-5 with special needs, across a few different school districts around NJ.
what we believe
-
We believe that there is one God, the Creator of the universe and everything in it. He is omnipresent (present everywhere at the same time), omnibenevolent (perfectly good), omniscient (all-knowing), and omnipotent (all-powerful). God is unchanging, and His character, truth, ways, and purposes have always and will always stay the same. He is loving, merciful, and just, and desires a personal relationship as a Father with His children.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, present at the creation of the universe, born to a virgin, making him both fully God and fully man, so that he could become a mediator between God and humanity for the purpose of reconciliation. During his ministry, he taught truth and performed miracles. He lived a sinless life, yet took on the sin of the world when he sacrificed himself on the cross. Jesus Christ died on that cross and was buried, and rose on the third day after overcoming sin and death.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is one of the three persons of the Trinity. On the day of Pentecost, the Spirit was called to dwell within believers of Jesus Christ. He has a direct influence on the way Christians think and act, and can convict them of sin as well as help them to understand God and the Bible. If Christians search for them with the purpose of glorifying God, the Holy Spirit will use discretion to grant spiritual gifts such as prophecy, tongues, interpretation of tongues, and healing to use as a service for others in accordance with God’s will.

We believe that humans are made in God’s image, the first being Adam and Eve, and were made to have a personal relationship with God. Adam and Eve were tempted by the devil to eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil in order to be like God, and in doing so entered into the world of sin and brokenness. This would be passed on through all generations, causing all of humanity to be born into original sin until the Day of Judgment. This sin is any word, thought, or action that does not come from God or reflect His character, but rather from the devil.

We believe that through the personal relationship that God seeks to have with His children, He wants to spend eternity with them, yet in relation to His perfection, the sins of humanity do not allow them to be in His presence. As a way to bridge this gap between God and humanity, He sent His Son Jesus Christ to bear the sins of humanity in an act of sacrifice on the cross and resurrection from the dead three days later. By believing through faith that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, and asking forgiveness for their sins, Christians will be saved and granted eternal life in the presence of God. This is the only way to salvation for those who have heard the name of Jesus Christ, and for those who have not, they can be saved if they exercise their faith in God as He is revealed to them through creation and providence.

We believe that the church is not a building or place, but rather a body of believers that makes up the Kingdom of God. It is a community that is united by their faith in Jesus Christ with the sole purpose of teaching and sharing the gospel. The church should be welcoming of all, but should encourage and hold its members accountable for spiritual growth. The church should be in the world, but not of the world. It is a service driven ministry, extending to all corners of the earth to love and serve others in Jesus’ name.

We believe that all of the Holy Scriptures are God-breathed and transcribed by trusted authors. All sixty-six books of the Bible were ordained by God, and are not to be added to or have text taken away from them. While translations and scribal errors cause the modern Bible to differ from the original Scriptures (the first of their kind, written in Hebrew, Aramaic, or Greek), the concepts and divine truth still remain, rendering it as infallible. The Scriptures consist of multiple genres, and must be read in accordance with such, along with the necessary context as to avoid a cherry-picking of the gospel.
